Design
idea for an "East-West-Pavilion" for EXPO 2010 Shanghai
The idea for an East-West-Pavilion, which we would like to
realize on EXPO 20101 in Shanghai, is the abstraction of the Chinese
turtle. The well-known meaning of the turtle in China is a long life
and a slow, but continuous development.
The head of this
object is designed similar to the sculpture “Eurasian Sculpture
[REN]” or head leg figure. The back or roof with the windows symbolizes
the shell of the animal; the sinus-curved line is the conclusion of
the shell.
The meaning of the strings above is the “Information tree”,
which “grows” from the crown of the head leg figures´
top. The “Information tree” connects the two banks of a
channel or small river as a symbol for connecting East and West. A further
meaning of the “Information tree” is the contemporary world
of electronic networking. The interior hall will be designed as an exhibition
hall, may be with several floors.
